Terminology and Ambiguity – Deal with it!
I realized a while back that trying to convince you to discuss vocal pedagogy using my terms is unnecessarily selfish. There are not enough days left in my life to make such an effort worthwhile. At this point I’m delighted with 80% “agreement on terms”, and moving forward with discussions to the best of our abilities.
What we can and should control is our own internal consistency. If I’m going to differentiate between Event A and Event B, then I should do it exactly the same way every time. If we are both consistent in our speech, we will eventually learn each others “accents” and be able to have intelligent, helpful discussions.
Arguing about how to express a point when it’s apparent that we understand the actual point is stupid.
